~ * ~

This is the 22nd...
On this day, THE SAVIOUR WELCOMED MY FATHER INTO THE HEAVENS.

Exacty one year ago, later on today - around 4pm - it happened...
I saw my father die, right in front of me...

I will post a series of commemorative blog posts now - all across the TLB PRIME NETWORK!

Yes - I know father is still alive - in the greater sense
I miss his physical presence, which I had gotten so use to take care of...
to look after his best interests... to fight for... to champion...

I know that he should still be alive, physically speaking...
He was ill, but not so bad that he would be on death's threshold... he wasn't
Overnight, within mere moments, he was placed on death's threshold...
An afternoon nap that went terribly wrong -
for a variety of reasons
I can blame the medical staff, the original doctor, the pharmacist...
But it is a year now - a lawsuit action is not to be now, officially...
It wouldn't have brought back my father anyway...

(About the original doctor and the pharmacist: it wasn't either of them that told me something years ago; it was ANOTHER pharmacist who told me that father's medication wasn't adequate and then, when I confronted the doctor with that information, he changed it...
See - they sure WERE incompetents...
But it was not that incompetence alone that triggered my father's physical departure...)

My father departed this world at his most saintly-like behaviour...

I can only hope I will make my exit the same way...!

Unless the Lord Comes before I do...?

Life begins
Life ends

What is between these two events can indeed be wonderful
Even if sparkled with injustices, here and there...
Even when one is not exactly born ''under a lucky star''...

Such was the case for Joao Jacinto Borges Pimentel
born today

Alive forevermore - with God, Our Lord
Amen

Three Years Ago - In Madrid

The funeste commemoration of the anniversary marking the deadly actions of a bunch of terrorists on the "other 11" - 3/11. 9/11 was the worst of all - but the bombings of March 11, 2004 were savage in their own right. 2001... 2004... Seems like they strike every three years, in a randomly-chosen city...? As 29 mere "suspects" are brought to trial NOW (since last month really) on top of that, we can expect something to happen in the coming weeks or months...?

As reported on CNN...
Terror in the Spanish capital

Deadly bombings that left 191 dead and 1,824 injured in Madrid were one of the worst worldwide terror attacks since the September 11, 2001 strikes on New York and Washington. In addition to the carnage, the March 11, 2004 blasts targeting the Spanish city's train network caused major psychological and political fall-out.

The country swiftly re-evaluated its contribution to U.S.-led global anti-terror operations. Three days after the attacks, blamed on Islamic militant groups including al-Qaeda, the then government was voted out of office. Its successors ended Spain's military involvement in Iraq. Meanwhile, Spain launched a massive manhunt for the perpetrators, eventually bringing 29 suspects to trial in February 2007.

FOR NO REASON AT ALL, REALLY...

Celebrity Death of the Week

Vladimir Odoevsky (1803-1869)
Odoevsky was a prominent Russian philosopher, writer, music critic, philanthropist, and pedagogue who has recently been credited with having predicted "blogging" and the basic principles of the Internet. He also wrote tales for children and phantasmagoric stories for adults imbued with a vague mysticism reminiscent of Jakob Boehme.

Vladimir Odoevsky (Born August 13th, 1803 – Died March 11th, 1869)
(O.S. date of birth: August 1st, 1803 - date of death: February 27th, 1869 – O.S. means Old Style, the date on the Julian calendar in British Empire countries. The Gregorian calendar was adopted on the 14th of September 1752.)

Utopia
Recently, Odoevsky has been credited to have predicted blogging, and the basic principles of the Internet. In his unfinished utopian novel Year 4338, written in 1837 but not published until 1926, he mused: "Finally, today we received a household journal from the prime minister, where we, among others, were invited to a soiree. You need to know that in many houses, especially those well connected, such journals are published, having replaced regular correspondence. <...> The journals usually provide information about the hosts’ good or bad health, family news, various thoughts and comments, small inventions, as well as invitations; in case of a dinner invitation, also the menu. Besides, for communicating in emergency, friends' houses are connected by means of magnetic telegraphs that allow people who live far from each other to talk to each other."
