May 19 seems to be a most significant date after all...
May 19, 1563 - Anne Boleyn was executed on charges of adultery and witchcraft (among others) that were all fabricated and false from beginning to end.
Those were my own words, excerpted from... well, ah, another blog of mine... Where this OTHER historical innocent to be condemned to death under totally false pretenses is spotlighted on this date...
Between Anne Boleyn and Richard Cartwright, many centuries have gone by...
The techniques to get to the truth and find the true culprits and guilty parties have improved so much... And yet, innocents still bite the dust.
How can they possibly... "rest in peace"?
From the "yet another reason to hate Vince McMahon" files: his company and his storytelling crew chose to weave an absurd plot (as absurd as the accusations against Anne Boleyn were...) surrounding the date of the release of their umpteenth wretched attempt at making movies... "See No Evil" which stars resident monster and wrestling "superstar" KANE...
May 19th was supposed to MEAN something for Kane, in this scenario - a tragedy had occurred in his fictional life, see?
See no evil... no research done about the significance of the date for others... and no respect!
All May 19th REALLY meant for Kane and the WWE brass was that it was the ill-chosen date for the release into theaters of the sorry excuse for a film that it is - opposite blockbusters "Over The Hedge" and the equally-wretched (but for different reasons) Da Vinci Code...
The family of Richard Cartwright and any Briton who affectionates the unlucky in love and in pretty much anything else Anne Boleyn (Anne of a Thousand Days she is forevermore remembered) should abhor McMahon & co and boycott the waste of celluloid called "See No Evil" - which, in better days where more common sense prevailed, would have wound up as a "straight to video" release...
And even so - said release, straight to video or DVD, could have been on another date than May 19th... That is, if they insisted upon making such a circus around the release date...
There ARE still dates on the calendar that have no "dark day of infamy" stygma attached to them, you know... One has but to show some willingness to find them when things like this are a part of your agenda.
